Problem. A manufacturer was having supply chain problems with too much inventory, high purchasing expenses, scheduling problems and long cycle times which were limiting growth and customer responsiveness.
Solution. LTD analyzed their process and found that there was not really a process for customer orders. It was more of a daily fire fighting exercise. As a result, there was purchasing with no formal procedure and price negotiation. Orders were mishandled. Overall there was a type of ongoing chaos. LTD developed a S&OP program for them with teams and clear responsibilities.
Problem. A retailer had a significant amound of capital tied up in inventory with low inventory turns. Yet they also had customer service problems with being out of stock of key items-and the lost revenue opportunites.
Solution. LTD studied their inventory by product and by category. Then we looked at the situation by domestically sourced versus internationally sourced. Next we analyzed the performance of each supplier as to how well they shipped on time and the lead time for their orders and did a risk analysis of the major suppliers. LTD developed a program to reduce the number of suppliers, measure supplier performance and improve inventory turns by 50%.

Case Study
A 3PL was trying to define itself, create an identity in the market and separate itself from the multitude of many companies offering what seem to be the same service. After much research and discussion with their management team, we defined a market segment and a brand identity and value proposition to define who they are and what they bring to customers.
